John Wheaton Vaughn, Jr., of Laurel, DE passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury after a short illness. John was born in Rockville Centre, NY the son of the late John W. and Loraine (Mahon) Vaughn, Sr. He graduated from Penn State Univeristy with an Associates Degree in Horticulture and Landscaping. He owned and operated Vaughn's Florist in Milford from 1970 to 1977. After leaving the floral industry, John became a salesman working until he retired. He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Laurel and a member of the N.R.A. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Victoria Lorraine Vaughn in 1972, his son Joshua Wesley Vaughn in 2016, and his brother James Wyatt Vaughn. 

He is survived by his sons John W. Vaughn III and Jason W. Vaughn and his fiancee' Christina Medford; two grandchildren Jason W. Vaughn, Jr. and Jordan W. Vaughn; his former wife Charlotte Vaughn; three brothers Craven Vaughn, Vaughn Vaughn and Wayne Vaughn; and two sisters Joyce Ringgold and Jill Vaughn.

A viewing will be held from 12 - 1:30 PM on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce Street, Harrington, DE where a funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington.
