I am so sorry to hear about J.D.'s passing. He and my dad, Calvin Davis, used to race horses at Ocean Downs and surrounding tracks, so I've known J.D. since I was a little girl. The last time I saw him was up in the Club House at Ocean Downs celebrating his birthday. I would like to think that he and my Dad are up in Heaven swapping stories of their race horsing days. There wasn't a single time I can remember not seeing a smile on JD's face. He was ornery, a genuine spitfire... So full of life... My heart breaks for all of the family and friends that are now left to carry on in his absence. I had no idea until recently how much he truly LIVED his life... After hearing about all of his amazing accomplishments, JD didn't just muddle through life, he grasped it by the reigns, and made each day an adventure! He made sure that he gave his "Dash" 100%...I hope that you all take comfort in knowing that he lived a life well spent, and that the beautiful memories created will bring you peace through the hard times ahead.

I'm so sorry I cannot be there!! You all are in my thoughts and prayers!! I loved listening to JD's stories and watching his smile when I would call him my boyfriend!! The racing world lost a great one!!! Love to you all, rest in peace boyfriend (((hugs)))
