To Bob and all Gerry's family-
So sorry we were unable to be at the service for Gerry. We corresponded
frequently, especially after she learned she had cancer, since I was fighting
bladder cancer. Ironically, I just learned my treatments were successful,
Although I will be monitored for some time. We would have been there
except that Pat fell and broke her upper arm just at that time.
I hope Joe and other of Gerry's siblings will maintain contact with your
long lost but now found relatives. Your Mom was always a special
person in my mind.
Will continue to pray for both of them.
Fondly,
Rocky

Gerry was a great person who was dedicated to her work at the FBI. I could always count on Gerry to help me in legal issues pertaining to counterterrorism investigations. On a lighter side, Gerry had a great sense of humor and we shared many laughs together. Rest in peace my friend.

I knew Gerry at Penn State. We worked for the same student organization, and we were friends. One summer she was between apartment leases or something and needed a place to stay. My roommates were gone, and she accepted my offer to stay at my apartment. My younger brother was also staying with me.

She pronounced her name Jerry, which is the most common for her spelling.

I'm a guy, and my first name is pronounced Gary, very rare for the spelling. In fact, people often call me Jerry.

My brother's name was Jerry, and pronounced Jerry, of course.

During that time, we got phone calls at the apartment. Sometimes it took a while to figure out who the call was for. I always smile when I think about that. And there were other good memories. Gerry was a good kid.

To Gerry's family,

Please accept my most heartfelt sympathy on your loss. Gerry and I were colleagues in the NS-1B Unit at FBIHQ, where she was always helpful, friendly, and good-humored. She contributed significantly to the Unit's counterintelligence mission, and was a valued member of our team, providing important continuity and expertise. She will be missed.

I will remember a great junior year at Penn State with Gerry as my roommate at Simmons Hall. We shared many laughs and both spent the all-nighters at exam time. She was one of the kindest people I ever encountered. My dad died during my last few months at State and it was her who helped make sure that I was OK and even accompanied me down to the bus station so I could make it home for his funeral. We kept in touch all these years, and with the advent of Facebook, shared in all of my adventures including a long hike alone across Spain (45-day religious pilgrimage), cheering me onward. It was like I was taking her with me and the journey wasn't so lonely. Ger, you will be missed! I will never forget you!
Sincerely and with love,
Joanie Tumolo-Hess

Dear Gerri's family,

I went to PSU with Gerri. In fact, I lived across the hall from Ruth and her with my roommate, Jan Abelove. I remember her humor, laughter and generosity. Please know you all are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. May her beautiful memories always remain in your hearts.

Dear Gerri's Family,
Please accept my sincere sympathy. I have known Gerri for many years. I lived across the hall from her and Ruth in Simmon's dorm. We have stayed in touch ever since. She spent a lot of time at my parent's home here in State College, including several Thanksgivings. The news of her passing was such a shock. We were just emailing last week. I will miss her so much. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry I cannot be with you at this difficult time.
Jan

Gerry was one of the hardest working and crazy people we knew at Penn State and in the years that followed. I will always remember her as the roommate in college who was as hungry for a hoagie as I was. We combined all our pennies (literally) and had just enough to buy one to share. She was a great friend and was always interested in what we were doing. Even thought we lived in different states, we kept in touch. She was good at writing often and checking in on us. We both will miss her very much!
