Jeff and family - It was so sad to see Obby's obituary in the Delaware State News. I worked with Obby @ DelDOT for most of my 24 yrs & 6 mos. there. Obby was not only great to work with but just a lot of fun and pleasure to be around. Please excuse my not being able to attend the services but my mobility is limited due to a failed knee replacement and a hip replacement that needs to be revised.
I will always remember Obby's attention to every small detail of the assignments he was assigned. Rarely do you go through a term such as I had with DelDOT that you don't hear an unkind word about someone. This was not the case with Obby. I can truthfully say I never heard anyone say anything unkind about Obby. This is surely a testament to his character and diligence to do a good and thorough job no matter what the task at hand was.
The last time I saw Obby was at the barbershop in Milford. He tried his best to get me to go to coffee, but I told him I had some issues to attend to that morning but we would surely do it soon. Unfortunately, that was the last time we met. I am kicking myself now for not contacting him and enjoying coffee and conversation that he liked to do with friends. So, unfortunately this is a time of loss for us, however it is Heaven's gain. My wife, Cheryl and I, extend our condolence to the entire Reed family and a host of friends like myself that will miss him also. We sincerely hope that the period of grief will be brief and soon replaced with fond memories.
Bill

Jeff and Family,
Having gone through the terrible Alzheimers Disease with my Mom, I know you must have a sense of both sadness and relief. It was my pleasure to work with Obby for many years and share his passion for his work and for his co-workers. I'll cherish the memories and continue to think of him often.
I'll be out of town next week in Hilton Head Island, but my thoughts will be with you and Obby. He was a true friend and professional!!

You have my prayers and deepest sympathy on the loss of your father. I just lost my mom last month and it is hard, but i know she is an angel in heaven, so is your dad. May God bless.
