William Johnson Stover, 84, of Georgetown, Delaware, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.  Bill was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the son and only child of the late William and Emma Stover (Maisel).  He was a graduate of Towson State University, Maryland with a BS in Business Administration and Johns Hopkins University, Maryland, achieving a Master’s Degree Suma Cum Laude in Administrative Sciences.

After high school, he enlisted in the US Air Force serving four years 1951-1955, in the Korean War.  Following his military service, he started his career working as a civil servant for the Department of the Navy at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland and Washington DC naval base. The later years of his career were spent as a Technical Director for the Department of the Navy in Jacksonville, Orlando and Pensacola Florida where he retired in 1996.

He enjoyed boating, fishing, seafood with a good chardonnay and computer technology.  Most important to Bill was his family.  Providing for and keeping them safe was his mission.  He was a loving spouse and father.  

He is survived by his wife Lillian Mae Stover (Baker), daughter Gail Marie Barnick and her spouse Keith of Phelan, California, daughter Cheryl Stover-Pieroni and her spouse Robert of Georgetown, Delaware, 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Bill’s remains will be placed in the Wall of Honor at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.  In memory of Bill, the family suggests contributions to the Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford Delaware, 19963.
