Robert Thomas Cain, Sr., 86, of Milford, formerly of Harrington passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at Kent General Hospital, Dover. Robert was born in Harrington, DE the son of the late William Louder and Mary Catherine (VanSant) Cain. He was a graduate of Harrington High School and the University of Delaware with a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served during the Korean War. After his service to his country, Robert went to work for the State of Delaware as a Civil Engineer from 1958 to 1994. He was an avid gardener and loved to read. His real passion was airplanes, at one time training to get his pilots license until a mild heart attack stopped him from becoming licensed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers Claude, Kenneth and Leon Cain.

He is survived by his daughter Holly Baker and her husband Larry; his son Robby Cain and his wife Debby; and two special grandchildren Kim Kosiorowski and Lisa Cannon.
A viewing will be held from 11 am to 12 pm on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce Street, Harrington where funeral services will be held at 12 noon.
