Mary Ellen Hall, 90, of Milford, DE, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 at the Atlantic Shores Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Millsboro. Mary Ellen was born in Reading, PA the daughter of the late Harry Isaac and Edith May (Rathje) Ninzeheltzer. She graduated from the Milford Hospital Nursing School as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Milford Memorial Hospital for 40 years. During her career at the hospital Mary Ellen worked the night shift where she worked in the Emergency Room, in the Pediactric I.C.U. as well as supervised different floors throughout the hospital. She also found time to teach surgery to nurses. Following a long and productive career as a Registered Nurse, Mary Ellen retired in 1986. Over the years, she and her late husband Carlisle enjoyed many hobbies together, from painting and selling the Santa Clauses that Carlisle would carve out of wood,  to bird watching, bottle collecting and metal detecting. Mary Ellen also loved doing genealogy work, and took many trips to the Public Archives in Dover to do extensive research. She taught sewing for many years at the Milford Sewing Center and loved doing crafts and painting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Carlisle Watson Hall in 2008; one brother Gene; and two sisters Hazel and Ruth.

She is survived by 2 daughters Wendy H. Embleton and her husband Jerry, and Holly Lynn Barker; 4 grandchildren Kyle Adam Bradley, Haley Lynne Embleton, Rebecca Barker and Jimmy Barker; one great grandson Aiden; and two brothers Ray Ninzeheltzer and Ira Ninzeheltzer.

Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Reformation Lutheran Church, 613 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, DE  19963. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford.
