Donald Christie, Sr., 85, of Lincoln, DE went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Donald was born in Maplewood, NJ the son of the late Alexander and Ethel (Ort) Christie. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict. He then began working for New Jersey Bell Telephone in 1954, beginning his career as a lineman and working his way up the ladder, becoming the Safety Coordinator for New Jersey Bell, before retiring in 1985. During his many years of work for N.J. Bell, even in the harsh elements, Donald never missed a day of work. He was a member of the South Orange Elks Lodge. He was a jack of all trades and was a master of everyone of them. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 3 brothers.

He is survived by his bride of 61 years Emily Ann; his children Cynthia Lipman (Bob) of New York; Deborah Drechsel (David) of New Jersey; and Donald Christie, Jr. (Kim), of Milford; grandchildren Gregory (Justin), David (Laura), Christine, Chad (Meg), Christopher (Lori), Ryan (Lauren), Jennifer and Conor; and great grandchildren Grace and Faith.

A Celebration of Donald's Life will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, DE. In lieu of flowers the family would like contributions be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE  19963. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford, DE.
