Cleo Juanita "Clee" Fountain, 76, of Milford, Delaware went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at the Delaware Hospice Center. Cleo was born December 14, 1939 in Pungoteague, VA the daughter of the late Alfred and Arenthia Harmon. Early in her life, she moved to Georgetown where she attended school and graduated from William C. Jason High School in Georgetown. She was a graduate of Delaware State College and the University of Pennsylvania, receiving her Bachelors of Education and Bachelors of Social Work. On April 18, 1962, Cleo married the love of her life Kenneth D. Fountain. They formed the perfect union and together, raised a wonderful family. Cleo worked as an early childhood educator at Lulu Ross Elementary School in Milford, retiring in 1981. She then continued her career at Christian Tabernacle Academy in Lincoln from 1984 - 1988. She also was involved with the Migrant summer school program held in Milford. Cleo loved baseball, basketball, boating, music and dance. Cleo was appointed to the State of Delaware Board of Medical Practice, serving from October 1997 to 2000. In her spare time, she volunteered at the Milford Senior Center, for Milford Diabetes Services, Diabetes Education, Carlisle Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, many of the community outreach programs and was an active Milford High School Band Booster. She enjoyed being involved in the community with her husband, Kenneth Fountain. She was also a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Chapter. She attended the Berean Community Church in Milford. Most important to Cleo was the love she shared with her family, for she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. In her late months of illness, she was lovingly cared for by her nieces Cleo, Jackie and Angela Harmon, nephew Charles (Butch) Hammond, and neighbor Elaine Loftland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 1/2 years Kenneth D. Fountain in 2011; her daughter Constance Kenzella Fountain; as well as several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her son Eric A. (Gemma) Fountain; grandchildren Terrian Hicks, Finnian and Harper Fountain; one great grandson Juwan Hicks; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A Celebration of Cleo's Life will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 300 North Street, Milford where a viewing will be held from 9 to 11 am. Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to  St. Paul United Methodist Church, 300 North Street, Milford, DE  19963. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford, DE.
