Wilson T. Shockley, 86, of Milford, DE passed away suddenly on Friday, December 31, 2021, at home. Wilson was born in Milford, DE the son of the late Granville Wilson Shockley and Hilda F. Shockley. He worked his entire life on the family farm G.W. Shockley & Sons that was started in 1876 by his grandfather. Working on the farm and driving his John Deere tractor was something he absolutely loved doing. Wilson affectionately known as “Pops” to his granddaughters enjoyed spending time with his family. He especially took pride in his granddaughters and grand pup who meant the world to him. He loved being outside and at any given time, you could find him riding his gator around Cedar Neck. He also loved playing dominoes every Friday night at his sister’s house. When the State Fair was on, Wilson would be there to help Dave Wilson with his horses. He was an active member of the Greenbrier Hunting Club in Milford for 51 years. In addition to his parents, Wilson was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Kathleen W. Shockley in 2020; brothers Drexel Shockley, John Shockley, Lionel Shockley, and Richard Shockley; and a nephew Mark Shockley.
He is survived by his daughter Eileen Reynolds; his son Gary Shockley and his wife Karlyn; twin granddaughters Chelsea Reynolds and Kaitlin Reynolds, all of Milford; 3 sisters Marie Scarborough, Irma Jones and Lola Knotts, all of Milford; a sister-in-law Fay Shockley of Milford; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved grand pup Bella, who Wilson lovingly called "The Mutt".
A viewing will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where funeral services will be held at 1 pm. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford.
