Walter Earl Capron

Walter Earl Capron, 74, 0f Felton, DE passed away suddenly on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, Dover. Walter was born April 19, 1950 in Providence, RI, the son of the late Dana and Anna (Just) Capron, Sr. He was raised in Chepachet, RI. Walter was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Air Force from 1968 to 1973. He worked as a chain machine operator for Armbrust Chain Company in Providence from 1973 to 2012. He was also a long time service attendant at the Pawtuxet Sunoco in Pawtuxet, RI. After retirement, he relocated to Felton, DE with his family. Walter served as a Boy Scout leader, was an avid golfer, and enjoyed spending time at his family's summer home on Prudence Island, RI. He also loved having a microphone in his hand and singing to a crowd. Walter was also very particular in keeping a nice, maintained property. Most important to Walter was spending time with his family and friends for he was an honorable man, devoted husband and father who was always there for them. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Vada and John Collins and a brother-in-law John "Mike" Collins.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Patricia L. (Collins) Capron; one son Ryan Capron; as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, his longtime friend Steven Chemel and his work friends that became part of our family along with many other great friends.

A Celebration of Walter's Life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at the Harrington Moose Lodge, 16268 S. Dupont Highway, Harrington. Entombment with military honors will be held at 1 pm on Monday, February 3, 2025 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to either the Harrington Moose Lodge, 16268 S. Dupont Highway, Harrington, DE  19952 or to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arr. by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford.
