Vernard H. Atkinson

Vernard H. Atkinson, of Dover, DE passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Bayhealth Kent General, Dover. Vernard was born in Dover, DE the son of the late Alvin and Mae (Halladay) Atkinson. He was an over the road truck driver all his life. During his trips, he enjoyed communicating on his CB radio, his handle being the Egg Man! He was a member of Calvary Assembly of God Church where he was a member of the Royal Rangers. He enjoyed collecting coins, saving pennies and collecting pocket knives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by  a sister Pearl Norman.

He is survived by a son Vernard H. Atkinson II; a brother Alvin Atkinson, Jr.; and two sisters Norma Crisco and Irene Gordon. 

A Celebration of Vernard's Life will be held 5:30 pm at South Bowers Fire Company on Monday, February 16, 2026 located at: 57 Scotts Corner Rd, Milford, DE 19963.
