Thomas J. LoPresti, 85, of Milford, DE formerly of Long Island, NY, died Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, Dover. Tom was born in Manhattan, NY the son of the late Thomas Charles and Rita (Willy) LoPresti. He served in the U.S. Air Force, where he trained to be an aircraft mechanic. After his service to our country, Tom went to work at Pan American Airlines as an aircraft mechanic, working there for 29 years before leaving to work for American Airlines where he worked until retiring in 2005 and moving to Milford, DE. Tom was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Milford. Tom volunteered for 12 years with Meals on Wheels, was an avid gardener and kayaker, enjoyed making wine and was a devout NY Yankees fan. He loved to read, especially James Patterson novels. He also had the knack to fix anything that was handed to him. Most important to Tom was his family and friends, for he was a loving husband, father and grandfather as well as a good all around, wholesome man.
Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years Kathleen (Dimola); his children Doreen Bocco (Anthony), Kim LoPresti, Diane Mannarino (Robert), Thomas LoPresti (Christine) and Jodi Sickles; two sisters Marcia VanDyne and Rita Michel; 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, a very special niece and nephew Kelli DiGregorio and Butch Ciullo; as well as several other nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, 506 Seabury Avenue, Milford. Following the mass, a Celebration of Tom's Life will be held from 12 - 2 pm in the Parish Hall of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Food Bank of Delaware. Please make checks payable to the Food Bank of Delaware, 222 Lake Drive, Newark, DE 19702 Attention: Development Department.
