Teresita "Tery" Napoles Jaye Obituary

Teresita “Tery” Napoles Jaye passed away after a 13 year-long journey battling throat and esophageal cancer on April 11th, 2020 at the age of 60 while at her home in Milford, Delaware. Tery was born in Havana, Cuba on October 10th, 1959. Her family relocated to Miami, Florida in 1962 and after residing in a few other locations finally settled down in Edison, NJ in 1969. Tery attended St. Thomas Aquinas HS where she met her future husband, David Jaye. The two were married on March 15th, 1986 and resided in Iselin, NJ where they raised their two children Ashley Jaye and Trevor Jaye. In the fall of 2018, Tery and David moved to Milford, Delaware . Tery was a fun spirited woman who everybody loved and admired. She could make you laugh, comfort you, and bring you strength when you needed it the most. Best of all she could cook you the most delicious Cuban meals there ever were. Tery’s favorite pastime was fishing. She enjoyed the relaxation of sitting lakeside with her husband and taking pictures with her catches. Tery also loved entering contests and sweepstakes, a hobby that brought her immense happiness and many memorable experiences which her family will cherish forever. At the end of the day, she felt no greater joy than to watch TV with her husband as their pugs smothered them with love.

Tery is survived by her husband David Jaye, daughter Ashley Jaye, son Trevor Jaye, brother Pedro Napoles, sister Amparo Pikarsky, cousin Tania Reyes-Hernandez, and father in-law George Jaye. She is predeceased by her mother Amparo Napoles, father Pedro Napoles, and mother in-law Catherine Jaye.

Tery was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2007 and has been the biggest fighter ever since. Her situation never took away from her silly and loving personality.
