June 30, 1937 ~ January 12, 2022 (age 84)

Obituary

Stanley Eugene Good passed away on January 12, 2022 in Bayhealth Hospital, Sussex Campus, surrounded by family. Stanley was born June 30, 1937. He is survived by his sister, Evelyn L. (Good) Pearson, her husband Gordon, two nieces, Linda Dawn Hammond (Tim) of Lincoln and Amy Plump (Tim), of Milford.  Also surviving are nephews David Pearson (Michelle) of Felton and Wayne Gilliss (Paula) of New Jersey and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Preceding Stanley in death were his mother and father, Genevieve (Emerson) and Horace Good, and brother Richard Good, all of Felton, Delaware.

Upon graduating from Felton High School, Stanley served four years in the Air Force then went into the burgeoning computer world, working for Scientific Data Systems, and Xerox. He later moved to California where he remained for many years. Inspired by the beautiful flowers of the west coast, he developed an interest in photography. Stan often toured the western states, always with a trusty camera at his side.  He took many photographs and mailed them home. He enjoyed collecting brass locomotives and minerals, and piloting small planes.

After retiring from Xerox, Stanley moved back to Delaware and bought a home in Milford. He especially enjoyed visiting nearby railway depots, walking among the huge replicas of days past and pointing out features to those walking with him. His visit to Cass Scenic Railroad was one of the highlights of his life. Camping with his family in campgrounds on the eastern seaboard was a favorite; it was a special visit when there was a nearby zoo or animal park. Although he never married or had children of his own he enjoyed time with his nieces and nephews, their families, and his cherished cats.

Stanley wished to be cremated and have no ceremonies upon his death.  If you would like to honor his memory in the form of a charitable donation in his name, please consider donating to an animal shelter such as the Humane Society of the United States or support for your local emergency responders like Station 42 Carlisle Fire Company. Arr. by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford. Letters of condolence may be shared with the family at www.loflandandmcknatt.com.
