"Scutch" Kenton, Sr. Obituary

"Scutch" Duane Arthur Kenton, Sr., 78, departed this world for heaven on January 2, 2021, at home. He was born on June 24, 1942 in Milford, the son of the late Randall "Whitey" Christensen and N. Marguerite Kenton. He was also preceded in death by a grandson John Blake Lynch.

"If a man's wealth was measured by his smile, love, laughter and work ethic, he was the winner!" Scutch proudly served his country in the Delaware National Guard. He was the President of Kenton Crate and Pallat and D & J Recycling. He also was President of Scutch's Place, a local package store in Milford for many years. Scutch was a charter member of the Milford Elks Lodge # 2401. He served as the treasurer of the Milford Pop Warner, when his boys were kids. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and horse racing. He owned a race horse years ago, named Sparkling Crane. He enjoyed playing cards with Charlie and the boys at the cabin. Scutch loved the dirt track circuit. In the 70's, he drove his #89 race car at Little Lincoln Speedway, as well as at Georgetown, Delmar and Harrington Raceway. Years later, he raced his 1937 Chevy Coupe, #711. He loved having "BIG" parties with family and friends, listening to country music, and good food. He loved his family dearly. He was a larger than life man, always had a smile and never met a stranger!

He is survived by his loving bride of 59 years, Joyce Ann Webb; his children Duane A. (Scutchie) Kenton, Jr. and Sue, Crystal Kenton Lynch and Randy, Randall D. Kenton and Missy, Frederick J. Kenton, Yvonne R. Lynch and Ronnie and Darlene F. Kenton; grandchildren Randall J. Kenton and Amber, Jerry L. Callaway, Jr. and Kristen, Joseph C. Neibert and Amanda, Dustin L.
