Sandra "Sandi" Anderson Obituary

Sandra “Sandi” L. Anderson, 78, of Houston, DE, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at Bayhealth Kent General Campus, Dover.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late T. Windsor and Mabel (Fowler) Peters, Sandi brought her witty spark to everyone who knew her. A proud graduate of Penn Hills High School, she carried her lively spirit into every chapter of her life.

Sandi and her husband Andy shared 55  years of marriage, moving often during Andy’s Navy service before planting their roots in Houston, DE. Along the way, Sandi made lasting friendships and unforgettable memories, leaving behind laughter and joy wherever they went.

Sandi dedicated herself as an obstetrical coordinator at OBGYN Associates in Dover for many years. She was a cherished member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for over 50 years and lent her talents to the Friends Who Count crochet group, crafting blankets and throws to comfort others at Milford Memorial Hospital. Sandi gave her time to the State Office of Volunteerism with the Volunteer Delaware 50+. She was honored and received a 15 year recognition for her service showcasing her big heart and dedication to giving back.

Sandi wasn’t just part of the race community—she was the life of the party. Known for her infectious laugh and her knack for making every gathering a celebration, she created lasting memories for her fellow race families and friends.

Above all, Sandi’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She was a loving wife, a fun and devoted mother, and a friend like no other. Her quick wit, loyalty, and zest for life will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Sandi is survived by her beloved husband, Andy Anderson; her two daughters, Danielle Anderson and her significant other Scott Hearn, Becca Anderson and her wife Karinne Anderson, her sister Diane Pradetto; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Beverly Herrington.

Sandi’s light, laughter, and legacy will forever shine in the hearts of those who knew her. She wouldn’t want us to dwell in sadness but to celebrate her by living life with the same humor, love, and joy she so effortlessly shared with everyone around her.
