Sandra D. Stephenson

Sandra D. Stephenson, 78, of Greenwood, DE, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 16, 2023. Sandra was born in Winston - Salem, NC, the daughter of the late John and Ruby (Money) Merritt. She was a homemaker. For a time, Sandra worked as a seamstress at the Anvil Brand Dress Factory in High Point, NC. Once she moved to Delaware, she worked as a telemarketer for Sears and Roebuck in Wilmington. She was a member of the Greenwood Cheer Center. Sandra enjoyed sewing, watching TV, and loved listening to country music. Most important to her was her family, whom she loved raising her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Boyd Stephenson, Sr. in 1983.

She is survived by her children James B. Stephenson, Jr. (Tammie), Janice Stephenson Conde (Alex), Debbie Zuniga, Sharon Bearhawk (James), Lisa Blecke and Paul Daniel Ashby, Jr. (Sherri); 18 Grandchildren; 16 Great Grandchildren; and 3 Great Great Grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 6 - 8 pm on Wednesday. July 19, 2023 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Thursday, July 20, 2023 followed by burial in Milford Community Cemetery.
