Roy Neal Pruitt passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023. Roy was born September 29, 1938, to the late James and Laura Pruitt of Whitehall, Illinois. Roy retired to Milford after serving 21 years in the United States Air Force. He remained a resident of Milford since 1976. He married the love of his life Frances "Boo" Pruitt on December 5, 1970. He worked for Milford Stitching until they closed and then The Sussex Company until he retired for good.
Roy loved Nascar racing, especially Alan Kulwicki and watching old Westerns, Rifleman, Gunsmoke and anything with Roy Rogers. He also loved Cyndi Lauper's music. He enjoyed going to breakfast with his buddies before going to read the newspaper to his wife at her final resting place. He also enjoyed going to the Felton Fire Company on Friday nights to have ice cream and see his friends and his nieces Shelly Hobbs and Lisa Brittingham. Roy was the greatest father any child could ever want and just an all around great man, and he will be missed beyond words and never be forgotten. RIP we all love you and miss you.
In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 1/2 years Frances "Boo" Pruitt; brothers Bill and Lynn; his sisters Rose, Isabel; as well as his grandson, Joshua Abraham and his son James Abraham.
He is survived by his son's Richard J. "Pug" Abraham, Jr. (Chasity Calhoun) and Roy Lynn Pruitt (Helen), and daughter Lucinda; his granddaughters Myria L. Abraham(caregiver), Gabrielle Abraham, Serenity Abraham, Naomi Emery, Rhiannon Pruitt, Jodi Baker, Jessica Baker; and grandsons James Abraham and Kaiden Swain and great grandson Parker J. Abraham; and several other great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews.
Interment will be private in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
