Roy Walton McCullough

Roy Walton McCullough, 99, of Milford, DE passed away peacefully on Friday, December 10, 2021, at home. Roy was born in Milford, the son of the late Frank W. and Edna L. (Martin) McCullough. Roy was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during W.W. II. After the war, Roy went to work for the U.S. Postal Service, working as a mailman in Milford and surrounding communities for 32 years before retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Milford Lions Club, the Milford American Legion Post #3 and the Milford V.F.W. Post 6483. He also served as an airplane spotter along the Delaware Coastline. He was a scoutmaster for the Milford Boy Scouts for 10 years as well as being a local American Legion baseball coach, where he had the honor of coaching Philadelphia Phillies star pitcher Chris Short of Georgetown during his tenure. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his wife Marion (Price) McCullough in 2016 his brothers and sisters as well as his beloved dog and work companion Duchess.

Roy is survived by his stepson Christopher Price and his wife Nancy, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. Burial with military honors will follow in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Vitas Hospice, 39265 Commerce Drive, Suite 202, Millsboro, DE.
