Robin Elaine Swanson

Robin Elaine Swanson, 65, of Milford, DE formerly of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE. Robin was born in Wilmington, the daughter of Patricia Ann (Davis) Robertson and the late John "Jack" Karl Swanson, and step-daughter of the late A. Keith Robertson. She was a 1977 graduate of Henry C. Conrad High School in Wilmington, DE.  She worked for Wilmington Trust Company for many years; Moore & Rutt, P.A. in the real estate department; and then finally as a loan officer for the Delaware State Police Federal Credit Union.

Her first love were her pomeranians...she was her "PomsMom" and had a license plate proudly proclaiming that fact.  She had a fierce love of travel, traveling to not only the states, but Africa, Italy, Spain and Egypt along with sailing several cruises.  She was the best travel buddy.  She absolutely loved the movies and had hosted Oscar parties where friends would dress in their finery and gather to eat and take guesses on who the winners would be.  Her "Zelda Christmases" with friends was also something she really looked forward to with co-workers from 50 years ago!  She was talented at preparing stained glass pieces and had an interest in reading civil war books. Robin looked forward to the Derbys every year and loved travelling to Delaware Park to see the ponies run. Her love for horses ran deep. But most of all, she loved spending time with the people she loved.

She was a caring and loving daughter and friend. She was a best friend to many people and had an amazingly quick-wit leaving everyone laughing, giving her a special position in the exclusive "Ya Ya Sisterhood."  She was the nucleus in many of her small circles.

She is survived by her mother, Patricia, her half-sister, Lynn Bloom of Middletown, Delaware, and half-brother, Daniel Swanson of New Castle, Delaware. While she had no children of her own, her "Jakie" (Jacob W. Walls) held a special place in her heart. She was predeceased by her half-brothers, Jack Swanson, Jr. and David Swanson. She had such love and affection for her cousins, nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 11 am to 12 pm on Friday, February 27, 2026 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, Delaware, where services will be held at 12 noon. Burial will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, Delaware. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the ambulance company who came to take care of her many times: Carlisle Fire Company, P.O. Box 292, Milford, DE 19963.
