Robert Everett "Bob" Simmons

Robert Everett “Bob” Simmons, 85, of Lewes, DE formerly of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Bob was born in Wilmington, DE the son of the late Lewis Everett and Grace Valentine (Colonna) Simmons. He was a graduate of Conrad High School, received a degree from Goldey-Beacom College, and then received his certification in photography from the Antonelli Institute in Philadelphia. He was a self-employed commercial photographer for many years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, photography, nature, computers and eating. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother-in-law. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his half-brother Lewis Earl.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Gloria Jean Simmons; his daughter Stacia Hontanon and her husband Ramon; his grandson Cade Hontanon; 3 sisters-in-law Barbara Lofland (Bobby), Jeanie Fitzgerald and Marisa Pendleton (Bob); 2 brothers-in-law Meredith Betts (Mary) and Keith Betts (Jan); many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly; and his beloved golden retriever “Callie”.

A private Celebration of Bob's Life will be held. Memorial donations in memory of Bob can be made to Delaware Hospice Center at 855-DHI-GIVE and to the American Cancer Society 1-800-227-2345.
