Myrtle Pearl Norman Obituary

Pearl (Atkinson) Norman (Duerr), 62, of Dover, DE passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025 in Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, Dover. Pearl was born in Pasco County, FL the daughter of the late Alvin Atkinson, Sr. and Mae (Halliday) Atkinson. Pearl was a manager of Shore Stop for many years and looked forward to seeing her loyal customers. Unfortunately, Pearl was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Pearl never let her diagnosis get the best of her, continuing to fight and only utilize her wheelchair for distances. Loving wife, mother, and “Gammie”, Pearl looked forward to quality time with her family. She was a die-hard Eagles fan and loved watching games with her husband. Pearl loved being outside with the flowers and riding on her lawnmower. Playing cards and collecting Angels of any type were two of Pearl’s many hobbies. But, most of all, Pearl loved her dog, Shadow, and her grand-dog, JoJo.

She is survived by her husband Carl Duerr. Pearl and Carl have been together 26 years, married 13. She is also survived by her children Arthur "Art" Bennett IV and wife Tenley; Theodore “Theo” Norman, Jr.; Brittany Norman & significant other, Chris Scott; Chris Duerr & wife Sandra, Brian Duerr & wife Veronica, Steven Duerr, Jonathan Duerr & husband, Hank ; and Amy Yun & husband Chris; her brothers Alvin Atkinson & wife Wanda, and Vernard Atkinson; her sisters Norma Atkinson Crisco & husband Jack and Irene Atkinson; her sisters-in-law Cindy Hahn and Beth Jones; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
