Michael Hoyer Obituary

Michael W. Hoyer, age 80, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE. He was the son of George and Mary (Manning) Hoyer. Mike was born on September 24, 1954 in Chicopee, MA. He was a 1963 graduate of Milford High School. Mike proudly served in the US Army completing a tour of duty in Vietnam from 1965-66. He enjoyed watching football, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, and other sports teams with his brother, Tom. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes in his kayak with his two nephew’s, Jeffery and Russell Wintjen. Mike retired from Federated Auto Parts. In addition to his parents Mike was predeceased by his brother George A. Hoyer, his sister-in-law Sandra Hoyer, and nephew Greg Hoyer.

He is survived by his brother, Thomas Hoyer of Dover, his sisters Mary T. Gervan (James R) of Millsboro, DE, and Elizabeth I. Posadas (John) of FL. In addition, Mike is survived by his sister-in-law Louise Hoyer, nieces and nephews, Artie, Carole, Russell, Jeffery, Brad, and extended family members. With extreme gratitude the family wishes to thank the staff at Delaware Hospice, especially Sondra Satterfield for arranging the military pinning ceremony for veterans.

A private celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date.
