Michael Dale Chaney, 72, of Milford, DE passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Michael was born in Milford, DE, the son of the late Donald and Iris (Lynch) Chaney. He worked for Messick and Grey as a millwright and "roady" for many years. He then went to work for Perdue Grains as a grain man for about 30 years before retiring in 2020. He loved coaching his son's baseball teams. He was known to all as a loyal friend, and his childhood friends and classmates were just like blood brothers to him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Michael Tucker and a sister Donna L. Baker.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to either Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or in recognition of his sister Donna, to the American Leukemia Society c/o the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.
