Mary Frances Tucker, 90, of Milford, DE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Mary was born in Hamilton, North Carolina, the daughter of the late James Clayton and Bettie (Wynn) Haislip. She began her career working at Milford Stitching, then went to work at L.D. Caulk working as a production line operator for 25 years before retiring. Mary was the longest standing member of the Pilgrim Wesleyan Church in Milford, where she served her Lord as a Sunday School Teacher, as treasurer, sang in the choir and would also clean the church. After Pilgrim Wesleyan Church closed, Mary joined the Waters Edge Church in Milton. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She especially loved caring for her husband Atwood "Paw" Tucker, who preceded her in death in September 2024. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother Pee Wee Haislip; and two sisters Mabel Heaton and Virginia Wisseman.
She is survived by her daughter Shelley Moffett (fiancee' Craig Jahelka); a son Bruce Tucker (Wende); grandchildren Nathaniel Murphy (Kristal), Chris Tucker, Ashley Witmer (Eric), Lacey Moffett (Chad), Jordan Tucker, and David Moffett, Jr.; and great grandchildren Miles Murphy, Madison Layton, Owen Tucker, Cailyn Tucker, Henley Witmer, Auden Witmer and Finley Cleveland.
A viewing will be held from 11 am - 1 pm on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where funeral services will be held at 1 pm. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
