Mary Elizabeth Lord Pitlick

Mary Elizabeth Lord Pitlick passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at home. She was 88 years old. Mrs. Pitlick was born on November 3, 1935 in Harrington to the late William T. and Pauline (Hall) Lord. She was a member of the Harrington High School Alumni Association, Class of 1953, and a Honorary Director of the Delaware State Fair. In the early years, she was employed by Cahall's Gas Service Co. and Shaw Furniture. She later was employed by the Delaware State Fair and Harrington Raceway for over 30 years. 

She enjoyed traveling, reading, doing puzzles, and cooking for her family. Sharing holiday meals and spending time with her family was special to her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Richard "Dick" Pitlick in May of 2024; three brothers William Lord, John Lord, and Robert Lord; and four sisters Jane Carpenter, Evelyn Layton, Ann Jump, and Laura Betts.

She is survived by her daughter Denise Jane Eastman; one granddaughter Melissa Lavelle and her husband Lance; two great grandchildren, Samwise and Lyra Lavelle and one sister Audrey Zeitler; as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be no viewing. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Hollywood Cemetery, Milford Harrington Highway, Harrington.
