Mary Ellen Gallo

Mary Ellen Gallo, 83, of Greenwood, DE passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 3, 2026. Mary was born in Laurel, MD, the daughter of the late Stephen and Catherine (Abell) Lanham. She worked as a program analyst for the Department of the Navy and the Department of Agriculture. Mary loved to paint as well as paint rocks. She also liked to take photos of birds and animals and would design picture books that would contain her photos. She also enjoyed playing bingo, playing the slots at the Maryland Live casino and the Harrington Casino, RV camping and line dancing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rudy Gallo; a grandson Stuart Livingstone, Jr.; a brother Raymond Lanham; a sister Shirley Holmes and a brother in law Aaron Perkins.

She is survived by two daughters Lori Maya (Jorge) and Debbie Perkins (Timmy); 3 stepsons Rob Gallo (Mary Ann), Tom Gallo (Dawn), and Brion Gallo (Lori); 3 sisters Betty Pound (Dwight), Patty Perkins, and Glenda Guzinski (Ron); her significant other John Harris; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Mary's Life will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to either the Brandywine Valley SPCA, Georgetown Campus, 22918 Dupont Blvd, Georgetown, DE  19947 or to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE  19963.
