Lillian "Bunny" Stover Obituary

Lillian (Bunny) Mae Stover (Baker), 92, of Georgetown, Delaware, passed away Thursday, April 24th, 2025 at the home of her daughter and son in law in Georgetown, Delaware where she was being cared for by the wonderful nursing staff from Delaware Hospice. She was the daughter of the late Bernadine Baker (Mast) and George W. Baker and beloved wife of the late William Johnson Stover, III. She was the mother of Gail Mae Barnick and her spouse Keith of Phelan, California and Cheryl Ann Stover-Pieroni and her spouse Robert J. Pieroni of Georgetown, Delaware, 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Bunny started her life in Baltimore Maryland where she and Bill raised their family. She worked for the Department of Education for Baltimore County as a Guidance Counselor Secretary.  Bunny then made the move to Florida to accompany her spouse on his career journey. Bunny loved the lifestyle that the Florida sun, beach and hospitality offered.  She and Bill spent most of their retirement outside and many days out on the water boating and fishing.  Bunny made a lot of wonderful friends and connections in the sunshine state and moved to Delaware only when the time and need came to be closer to family.  Bunny spent 7 years at Milford Place Assisted Living in Milford, Delaware, where she enjoyed every minute of her independence, apartment and the activities and parties that she shared with her neighbors, friends, family and staff members, until once again it was time to move closer to family in her daughter and son in law's home in Georgetown.  Bunny, her daughter Cheryl and son in law Rob were blessed to spend those last two years together.   Bunny was surrounded by her local family and visits from her out of state family in the weeks leading up to her peaceful passing.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.  Bunny's remains will be placed alongside her husband Bill in the Wall of Honor at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.  In memory of Bunny, the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, Delaware, 19963. Delaware Hospice was present for Bill and Bunny's needs and were an invaluable support and kindness for the family through to the end.  Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford.  Letters of condolence may be sent and shared with the family at www.loflandandmcknatt.com
