Leroy D. Gillespie, Jr.

Leroy D. Gillespie, Jr., 63, of Ellendale, DE passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Bayhealth Sussex Campus, Milford. Leroy was born in Milford, DE the son of the late Leroy D. and Mary Ellen (Maringola) Gillespie, Sr. He worked as a truck driver throughout his life. He drove for Masten Lumber, Reeds Trucking, Shorts Trucking and finally Rifenburg Trucking for having to stop due to illness. Leroy enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR, but most of all, he loved driving his truck for a living. 

He is survived by his wife of 42 years Bonnie Gillespie; a daughter Liette Gillespie and her fiancée Terry Putz; two brothers R.J. Gillespie and David Gillespie; two sisters Barbara Marvel and Theresa Gillespie; and his fur grandchildren Trevor, Tank and Cooper.

A Celebration of Leroy's Life will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where friends may call from 12 - 1 pm. Letters of condolence may be shared with the family at www.loflandandmcknatt.com.
