Kathy McGlinch Spahr

Kathy McGlinch Spahr, 75, of Milford, DE passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023. Kathy is survived by her loving husband of 53 years Thomas Spahr, her three children Matthew Spahr, Charles Spahr (Andrea) and Emily Caldwell (Daniel), and five grandchildren who called her Mimi: Jackson, Cecilia, Miles, Owen and Sydney. She is also survived by three wonderful sisters who live in Wisconsin and Minnesota: Mary Polebitski (Mark), Maureen Parent, and Monica Depies (John); as well as 14 nieces and nephews. Born in Jackson, Michigan, Kathy was the daughter of Charles and Jane (Halcott) McGlinch.

While her father’s and husband’s careers took the family to several cities and towns across the Midwest and Northeast, Kathy and Tom eventually settled in Milford, Delaware where they raised their family and enjoyed retirement. Over Kathy’s 40 years in Milford she was an active member of the community.  Her volunteer work included serving on the board of the Milford Hospital Fair, teaching CCD at St. John’s Catholic Church and working for Parks and Recreation. She was perhaps best known among those who knew her best for her culinary skills, and often expressed her love by making her famous dishes for family and friends.

A Celebration of Kathy's Life will be held at 5:30 pm on Friday, October 13, 2023 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. Family and friends may visit from 4:30 to 5:30 pm. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer's Association - Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street, Suite 102, Philadelphia, PA  19106.
