John R. Jones

John R. Jones, 82, of Felton, DE died Friday, February 28, 2025 at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, Dover, DE. Mr. Jones was the son of the late John Paul Jones, Sr. and his wife Margueritte of Jacksonville, Arkansas. He retired as Staff Sgt. from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. Following his retirement, John worked for the State of Delaware Solid Waste Authority in Sussex County as a scale master for 10 years and then as a shuttle driver for Winner Ford in Dover, DE. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and a collector of NASCAR memorabilia.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years Linda K. Jones, 2 children a son Ronald Johnston and his wife Dawn, from Frederica, DE and a daughter Whitney Rogano, from Seattle WA; four granddaughters and five great grandchildren; his sister-in-law Anna Faye Kintz, from Lewes, DE and her daughter Alice Faye of Lewes, DE; his sister Candy Dunlap, of Vista, CA; his brother John Paul Jones, Jr. and his wife Patricia of Jacksonville, AR; as well as two nieces and nephews.

Services with U.S. Air Force Honors will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Victory Junction, 4500 Adam's Way, Randleman, NC 27317.
