Joan Elizabeth Knaub

Joan Elizabeth Knaub, 85, of Harrington, DE was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, September 11, 2022. She was born in York, PA the daughter of the late John and Kathleen Sheffer. Joan was a graduate of West York High School where she played basketball and the clarinet. She worked as a bookkeeper and teller at First Bank of Wyoming in Harrington for many years before retiring. She was a very active member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church, Harrington, where she served as secretary, treasurer, and also on the vestry. She also was a member of the Harrington, Frederica, and Milford Senior Centers. She was an avid bridge player. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Russell Joseph Knaub in 2002.

She is survived by her children: daughter Nancy Potter and her husband Richard, son Russell John Knaub and his wife Kim, and daughter Sueann Herkel and her husband John; 5 grandchildren Brandie Johnson (Justin), Bryan Towers (Taryn), Jennifer Pearce (Chris), Russell G. Knaub (Brittany), and Jessica Shellan (Eric); 7 great grandchildren Jessica, Emma, Little Russell, Lincoln, Annabel, Madison, and Sydney; one sister Janet Forry and a niece Carol Roth.

A visitation will be held from 12 - 1 pm on Friday, September 23, 2022, at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 190 Raughley Hill Road, Harrington, where a Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 190 Raughley Hill Road, Harrington, DE  19952.
