Jesse A. Jones, Jr.

Jesse A. Jones, Jr., 88, of Milford, DE passed away peacefully at home May 28, 2021 with his family present. He was born in Cloud Chief, Oklahoma, son of Jesse, Sr. and Verna (Van Winkle) Jones on December 28, 1932.  At the age of 6, his parents moved to Bentonville Arkansas where he lived until enlisting in the U.S. Air Force as an avionics specialist in 1951.  After which he was employed with the Civil Service at Dover Air Force Base for 33 years before retiring.

Jesse, a private and modest person, volunteered a number of years with his son's Boy Scout troop. He was a skilled waterfowl carver and an accomplished woodworker, taking great pride at refinishing furniture. Jesse could repair anything and was a very creative man, designing and building both a tractor and his first computer rather than buying them. Jesse served as a Master Gardener with the Delaware Department of Agriculture for several years. 

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Barbara (Walls) Jones; daughter Merritt Pimental (Richard); son Gregory; daughter-in-law Sherry Brown; sister Wanda Phillips; and three grandchildren: Jessica Jones, Geneva Pimental and Virginia Pimental.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Peyton Renee and his parents.
