James "Jimmy" Carlisle

James "Jimmy" Carlisle, 81, of Greenwood, DE passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy was the son of the late George and Elizabeth (Cannon) Carlisle. He began his career working for Burris Food Processing in Milford, and throughout the years, stayed on board as the company changed hands until finally working for Townsend Chicken Processing as plant manager up until his retirement. In his spare time, Jimmy enjoyed woodworking and restoring furniture. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years Katherine M. Carlisle in 2006.

He is survived by his son Michael Carlisle and his wife Robin, his daughter Michelle and her husband Bill, and a step son Robert Wallace; grandchildren Lisa Cleveland, Christian Carlisle, Kristina Wallace, and Susana Diehl; as well as several great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held from 11 - 11:30 am on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford where services will be held at 11:30 am. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Delaware Veterans Home, 100 Delaware Veterans Blvd., Milford, DE  19963.
