James Barton Decker

James Barton Decker, 69, of Harrington, DE formerly of Emmaus, PA passed away on Monday January 13, 2025, in Bay Health Sussex Hospital, Milford, DE. Born July 16, 1955 in Allentown, PA he was the son of Marilyn M. (Marsh) Decker and the late Barton H. Decker. James was a 1973 graduate of Emmaus High School. Growing up, he spent many hours listening to music from the 60’s and 70’s. As time progressed, he pursued his passion for music by playing his own compositions on the guitar. In his later years, his enthusiasm for trains led him to his career as a signal maintainer with Norfolk Southern Railroad for 45 years before retiring in 2020.

He is survived by his mother Marilyn M. Decker; two daughters Amy L. (Decker) Gill and Mindy M. Decker; a son Ryan J. Decker; and two brothers Jack M. Decker and Jay R. Decker.
