Herbert Franklin Moore, 89, of Viola, DE passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Herbert was born in Felton, DE the son of the late Ernest Clayton and Louise (Warren) Moore. He was a graduate of Caesar Rodney High School, class of '54. He worked most of his life as a truck driver, driving for REA, Rapid Distributions and finally Hobbs Enterprises, from where he retired in 2008. Herbert was proud of the fact that he had driven over 3 million miles without having had an accident throughout the 48 continental United States. He enjoyed cleaning and trading vehicles as well as collecting pickup trucks, especially Ford and Dodge pickups. Herbert also enjoyed gathering with his class of '54 for their monthly lunches.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years Frances (Darling) Moore; his children Linda Carter, Russell Moore (LeAnn) and Nancy Jo Hendricks (Jack); his step children Deborah Moore, Aaron Moore and Jeffrey Moore; his grandchildren Jason Carter, Ashley Erickson, Nathan Moore, Jessica Say, Courtney Hacker and Derek Moore; and 10 great grandchildren.
