Helen Miriam Webb, 93, of Milford, DE passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 18, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born February 11, 1928 in Woodside, DE the daughter of the late Norris R. and Elizabeth (Bennett) Sherwood. Helen was primarily a homemaker. She also worked for the Milford School District in the cafeteria for several years before retiring. She enjoyed spending time with her family as well as camping in Chincoteague VA and Lancaster PA. She also enjoyed snowmobiling with her husband during trips to the Northeast when she was younger. She was a great cook and her family enjoyed her “signature” dumplings at those many Sunday afternoon dinners with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also enjoyed crocheting and gardening. In the latter days, she and her husband enjoyed eating out for breakfast and dinner at local restaurants and trips to the Suicide Bridge Restaurant for special occasions including her and husband’s 90’th Birthday.
She is survived by her husband of 74 years Earl Richard Webb, Sr; two daughters Ginger Hendricks (C. Wayne) and Barbara Reed (Robert); one son E. Richard "Ricky" Webb, Jr.; 6 grandchildren: Duane Hendricks, Darla Chambers, Robert N. Reed, Brian Reed, Jennifer Hill and E. Richard Webb, III, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a granddaughter Gail Hendricks, a sister Marguerite Jarman (Clinton), and a brother Norris Sherwood (Betty).
A walk-through viewing will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, DE. All attendees must adhere to the current COVID-19 restrictions of mask wearing and social distancing. Services are by invitation only due to COVID restrictions and will be held at 1:00 pm followed by the burial at the Milford Community Cemetery.
