Florence Grace "Flossie" Sharp

Flossie Sharp, 78, passed away Friday, March 3, at the Center at Eden Hill in Dover after a short but brave battle with cancer. She was born in Milford, the daughter of the late Roland L. “Junior” Jackson and the late Florence B. (Austin) Jackson. She was the owner and co-founder of Phillip Sharp Son, Inc., a local plumbing and heating company. Her interests included traveling, snowmobiling, reading, line dancing, camping, and spending time with her family and friends, including the Scarlett Sensations Red Hats and the ’62 Girls. Flossie was an active, happy, positive person with a good sense of humor who enjoyed making those around her happy, and especially enjoyed activities involving her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Phillip E. Sharp, Sr., who passed in 2004.

She is survived by one son, Phillip E. Sharp, Jr. and his wife, Donna, and one daughter, Darlene C. Austin; four grandchildren, Lindsey K. Sharp, J. Brian Sharp, Lauren E. Sharp, and Benjamin W. Austin; one brother, Roland L. Jackson III and his wife, Alice Jackson, and one sister, Sandra L. Brooks; several nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law Ronald H. Sharp, Donald W. Sharp, William W. Sharp, and Larry N. Brooks. Also, she is survived by her second husband of 12 years, John R. Hudson; his son John Hudson, Jr. and his wife Maren and daughter Haley; his son Kenneth Hudson and his wife Lisa and daughter Brooke.

Visitation will be Friday, March 10, at Lofland Funeral Home at 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, from noon until 2pm with funeral services beginning at 2pm In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
