Ellen A. Rice

Ellen A. Rice, 75, of Greenwood, DE passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at home. Ellen was born in Denton, MD the daughter of the late Roy and Anna (Moore) Hill. She worked as a waitress for Nilon Brothers Catering in the race track restaurant located in the Grandstand of Harrington Raceway. She previously had worked as a security guard for 25 years as well as working as an agent for Avis Rental Cars. She loved to play poker on Saturday nights with her long time friend Bobbie Dean and her family. She also enjoyed going shopping with her daughter Kim. Ellen loved listening to their son Kevin's band Sticky Situation in Delaware and would travel often to Kentucky to listen to his band the P.G.B. Band. She never missed any of his shows. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald Rice, who died July 9, 2020; her son Kristopher Nolan Smith; 4 brothers LeRoy Hill, Butch Hill, Chester Hill, and Ray Marvin Hill and one sister Emma (Sis) Rhodes

She is survived by 4 Children: Kevin Smith  (Valerie), Kimberly May (Chester), Janet Boley and Danny Ray Rice; 8 Grandchildren Jessica Wagner (Wade), Wayne Hall, Clifton Boley (Connie), Crystal Jennings (Jerry Maddox), Sabrina Michalek (Kris), Cyndi Boley, Wesley May and Marcia May; 13 Great Grandchildren Kayson Michalek, Mckenzie Michalek, Nathaniel Workman, Aleyah Jennings, Timothy Moore, Sarah Rice, Stephanie Johnson, Aidan Brumfield, Tiffany Kirby, Kent Boley, Parris Campbell, Kody Johnson and Katelinn Bing; 9 great great grandchildren; one brother Calvin and his wife Karen and a half-sister Joanie as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington, DE. Letters of condolence may be shared with the family at   www.loflandandmcknatt.com. Arr. by McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, Harrington.
