Elinor Mae Rice Cofield

Elinor Mae Rice Cofield, 91, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on January 3, 2024 in Dover, Delaware. Elinor was born in Harrington, Delaware to the late Ada Pauline and Robert Rice on June 23, 1932. She graduated from Harrington High School in 1951. She was a life-long member of Milford First Baptist Church and worked with the Milford Senior Center after her retirement from Steiner’s, HR Phillips, and Sears.

She is preceded in death by her sisters, Lois Deter; Roberta Nicholls, (husband Ed Nicholls); her first husband Robert B. Murray, Sr., and her second husband Dennis Cofield; her son, Gary Eugene Murray; her son-in-law, Dana Gavin Rush; her grandson, Gavin Edward Rush; and her granddaughter, Tiffany Hess.

She is survived by her loving family: Sister; Dortha Lee Edwards; Daughters; Judy Wechtenhiser (husband, Robert Wechtenhiser); Trudy A. Rush; Nancy Hess; Son; Robert Burns Murray, Jr. (wife, Dona Murray). She is also survived by her Grandchildren; Olivia Murray (partner Nicolette); Jennalyn Rush (husband, Heath Gober); Jacob Murray (wife, Sarah); Joseph Murray (wife, Danielle); Nicholas Wechtenhiser (wife, Amber); Justin Wechtenhiser (wife Jenn); Morgan Hess; many Great Grandchildren as well as a step-son Erik Cofield.
