HARRINGTON - E. Beatrice (Armour) Layton, “Bea” to those that knew her well passed away peacefully on Monday, April 17th at Comfort Care Silver Lake where she was residing. She was 94. She was born in Milford, DE on June 25, 1928 to Lloyd & Mary (Johnson) Armour who proceeded her in death. Also, proceeding her in death were her husband & high school sweetheart, Theodore L. Bea was known as an excellent seamstress having worked for Ace Dress Company in Harrington for many years. She loved to make fancy square dance shirts and skirts for her & Ted. They were members of several area square dance clubs. She enjoyed camping with friends, one of her favorite spots being Leisure Point in Long Neck. At least once a year their square dance/camping club would gather at the Layton Family Farm for a weekend of fun.
She was an excellent cook and loved cooking for family & friends. Many parties & family reunions were held at the Layton Family Farm. She loved Country Music and was especially fond of George Jones. Her family was one of her greatest accomplishments. She loved her children, grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She could be tough when she needed to be but had a huge heart as well.
