Dorothy Levitsky Sinner, 98, of Milford, DE passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Milford Memorial Hospital, Bayhealth Medical Center. Dorothy was born on April 17, 1917 in Woodstown, NJ the daughter of the late Isidor and Fanny (Freihon) Levitsky. Dorothy went Salem High School and graduated in 1936. She attended Wilmington Hospital School of Nursing and studied at University of Pennsylvania.  She served in WWII in the Army Nurse Corp. serving in Normandy and attained the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Following the war, Dorothy worked at the VA Hospital in Elsmere for 28 years before retiring. Seven decades later, because of her service, Dorothy was awarded the French Legion of Honor medal, which is the highest distinction for service in France. Dorothy married Major George Washington Sinner on March 30, 1985. He preceded her in death in 2003. 

She is survived by her sister Ellan J. Levitsky Orkin, her cat Mademoiselle, as well as her beloved Kim, Tina and her caretakers.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 am on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, 2928 Sharon Hill Road, Dover, DE. Shiva will be observed on Sunday evening at 7:30 pm  at the home of  Ellan Orkin, 16 Nelson Street, Milford, DE. In lieu of flowers, it was Dorothy's wish for you to take a friend to lunch.
