Dorothy Brown Wechtenhiser

Dorothy Brown Wechtenhiser, 91, of Harrington, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2022. Dorothy was born on February 12, 1931, the daughter of the late George Clinton and Alexine Brown. She graduated from Harrington High School, class of 1949. She retired from the State of Delaware with a career spanning over 30 years. Upon retiring, she was passionate about her yard and truly enjoyed spending many hours gardening. Dorothy's family was her everything. She was deeply loved by her daughter's family who have created countless memories through the years. She enjoyed hosting Sunday dinners where she could spend time with her family. In addition to her parents and 6 siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband Bob in 2012. 

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Cheryl and son-in-law LeRoy; their 3 sons Shane (Lauren), Cody (Marisa) and Payton (McKenzie); great grandson Shane, Jr. and another great grandson expected in December; cherished great nieces and nephews Jamie, Colin and Ava. Being one of seven children, she shared memories of her nieces and nephews and their families as well. She is also survived by special friends in her life Bill and Betty Willoughby, Karen and Rex Evans and family and lifelong friend Doris Dell.

Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Friday, July 29, 2022, at Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. Arr. by McKnatt. Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, Harrington. Letters of condolence may be shared with the family at www.loflandandmcknatt.com.
