Dorothy Evans Lee, 87, of Lewes, DE passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. Dorothy was born in Overland, Missouri, the daughter of the late Elmer and Hazel (Thompson) Evans. Dorothy served during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force. After her military service, she worked for the Veterans Administration headquartered in Baltimore, MD. Her final position was as a Division Chief for the Contact Administration, retiring in 1986 after 25 years of service. She enjoyed volunteering at the Lewes Library for many years. Dorothy also loved to read, do embroidery and cross stitch as well as refinishing furniture. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband William King Lee in 2018 and her brother Bill Evans.
She is survived by two sons Denis Lee and his wife Barbara and Bill Lee and his wife Carol; 5 grandchildren Kris, Daniel, Kate, Andrew and Meghan; 7 great grandchildren Carter, Alexander, Avery, Alanna, Kendall, Milo and Ramona; as well as 4 sisters Myra, Sophie, Patricia, and Carol.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to either the Lewes Library, 111 Adams Avenue Lewes, DE 19958 or to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
