Donna Lee Baker Obituary

Donna Lee Baker, 70, of Greenwood, DE passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, in TidalHeath, Peninsula Regional Hospital, Salisbury, MD. Donna was born in the Philadelphia Naval Hospital in Philadelphia, PA the daughter of the late Donald Lee and Iris Marie (Lynch) Chaney. She was a graduate of Arizona State University. She began her career working at Mohawk Electric, then went on to do modeling for Hess Apparel. She then went to work for attorney Ernest Keith, ESQ. as a secretary and worked her way up to the position of Sr. Paralegal. She and her husband Rodney also owned and operated Baker Farms in Greenwood, growing chickens for the Perdue Company for 44 years and 2018, she was recognized by Jim Perdue for 40 years of growing for the company. Donna Lee enjoyed collecting Fostoria, watching NASCAR and Dirt Track Modified Racing. She was able to fulfill one of her ultimate last wishes of going back to Darlington Speedway, where she was honored as a V.I.P. for the weekend. She also enjoyed attending family dinners and going to lunch every Wednesday with her family. She also loved to go camping. Scallops and the riverboat ride on July 4 to see fireworks at Suicide Bridge Restaurant in Secretary, MD were special times in Donna Lee's life.  

She is survived by her husband of 34 years Rodney A. Baker; a daughter Michelle Lee Pierson; 3 grandchildren Brylea Hazelip, Bryson Hazelip and Melissa Hazelip; a brother Michael Chaney as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation will be held from 9 - 11 am on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Milford, 6062 Old Shawnee Road, Milford where funeral services will be held at 11 am. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to either the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which donations can be made online at www.lls.org, or to the Victory Junction Gang Camp, which donations can be made online at https://victoryjunction.org/the-gift-of-camp/.
