David A. Greenly, Jr., 82, of Milford, DE passed away peacefully on January 21, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. David was the son of the late David A. Greenly, Sr. and Wanda (Kibler) Greenly. He resided his life in the Lincoln and Milford area. He was a graduate of Milford High School class of 1962. David proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1962 - 1966 during the Vietnam War. He graduated from the Naval Air Technical Training Center in Memphis, TN and then was stationed at Naval Air Facility at Andrews Air Force Base in Washington, DC, where he joined the Naval Ceremonial Honor Guard. After his return home from his military service, David began work as an Industrial Mechanic/Group Leader for Playtex in Dover for nearly 40 years.
In his younger years, David liked shooting marbles and was Delaware State Marble Champion in 1956 and 1957. He loved all things baseball, building batting cages for his son and grandson, coaching Milford Little League Baseball and never missing a game through their high school and college days. David always loved racing cars from his '57 Chevy Stock Car #37 at Little Lincoln Speedway to racing radio controlled cars later in his life.
David was a skilled mechanic and talented carpenter who enjoyed remodeling and improving his home. He will be remembered for his outstanding work ethic, strength, kindness and deep love and loyalty to his family. David was the most devoted husband and loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Charlotte (Rapp) Greenly; his devoted son and daughter-in-law Jeffrey D. and Elise Greenly; his cherished grandchildren, Bryce and Kristen Greenly, brother-in-law Ronald Rapp (Joanne); sister-in-law Julie Greenly; nephews Mark Greenly (Kelly), and Andrew Rapp (Melissa), and a Niece Candice Stubbs (Daniel).
Friends may call from 12 - 1 pm on Monday, February 9, 2026 at the Asbury United Methodist Church, 200 Weiner Avenue, Harrington where a Celebration of Life will be held at 1 pm. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. Arr. by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford. Letters of condolence may be shared with the family at www.loflandandmcknatt.com.
