Darlene Kenton Obituary

Darlene Faye Kenton, 54, of Milford, Delaware, passed away on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Bayhealth Sussex Milford Campus, shortly after being diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. Born in Milford, Delaware, Darlene was the daughter of Joyce (Webb) Kenton and the late Duane “Scutch” Kenton. Darlene was the heart and soul of her children — the rock who held them together through everything. She raised her sons to be close, to look out for one another, and to always keep family first. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren beyond measure,  and her love for them was at the center of everything she did. She adored her grandchildren and treated each one like her own child — especially Nick Neibert Jr., whom she loved like another son. She was happiest when surrounded by her family, celebrating birthdays and holidays, cooking everyone’s favorite meals, and finding the perfect gifts that made every occasion special. She was a hardworking woman who took great pride in her work. Darlene also shared a special bond with her beloved dog, Moe, whom she lovingly called “our little brother.” Her faith in God and angels guided her through life, and her love knew no limits. If there was ever a car accident on the news, she would call to make sure everyone was safe — that was who she was: always worrying, always caring, always loving.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her mother, Joyce (Webb) Kenton; her five sons — Joseph Neibert Jr., Dustin Neibert, Colby Neibert, Chase Neibert, and Chad Neibert; her cherished dog Moe; and her adored grandchildren — Nick Neibert Jr., Lexi Neibert, Chloe Neibert, and Chad Neibert Jr. She will also be dearly missed by her brothers and sisters — Fred Kenton, Randy Kenton, Crystal Kenton, and Yvonne Kenton.

She was preceded in death by her father, Duane “Scutch” Kenton; her brother, Duane “Scutchie” Kenton Jr.; and her son, Nicholas Neibert.

A viewing will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Avenue, Milford, where services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be private.

Her love, strength, and devotion to her children and grandchildren will continue to live on through them, binding them together just as she always wanted.
