Daniel Carl Pennington of Milford, DE died on New Year's Day, January 1, 2025. He was lovingly called "Dano" by friends and was known as very kind, patient and gentle to everyone he met. He always had a friendly, upbeat welcome when greeting you and was never ashamed to share his faith and the good news of Jesus.
Daniel completed high school in Dover, DE and was well known for many years for his gift of running and speed. During high school he ran track and won top awards. After school, he entered many races and often took first place. He won so many races that he felt to let others win to give them a chance.
He worked for six years at Sea Watch in Milford, DE and those that knew him there reflected on how he always said "hello" and had a happy countenance. He never looked at any task as "beneath him." He approached his work with a humble attitude.
Daniel loved his family and friends. He was a member of Jesus Love Temple in Milford, DE. He is survived by his mother Jenny, father Daniel and sister, Christina Butler.
He was closely connected to God's Way Ministries in Milford, DE. He looked to Roger Wood as a surrogate father. Roger and his wife Carrie looked after him to always make sure he had what he needed.
Daniel was a true light to all who knew him. His kindness and caring heart will always be remembered.
