Cornelia A. Schaap

Cornelia A. Schaap, 87, of Milford, DE passed away suddenly on Monday, October 25, 2021 at Bayhealth Sussex Campus, Milford. Cornelia was born in Amsterdam, Holland the daughter of the late Frederick and Johanna Jeanetta (de Rijk) Douma. She worked as a nursing assistant at Milford Manor for many years. She enjoyed gardening and was proud to have been a City of Milford Monthly Garden Award winner. She also loved her pets and enjoyed wildlife, doing needlepoint and knitting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years Marinus L. "Le" Schaap in 2012; a sister Jopie, and three brothers Theo Schaap, Toni Schaap and Toni Schaap.

She is survived by one daughter Laura Brooks and her husband Mike; two sons Randolph Schaap and his wife Carol and Robert Schaap and his wife Cindy; 8 grandchildren Leslie Passwaters and her husband Mike; Jamie Crouch and her husband Jeff; Gy. Sgt. Derek Schaap, U.S.M.C. and his wife Lacey; Kristin Schaap; Phillip M. Schaap; Tech. Sgt. Leland Robert Schaap, U.S.A.F. and his wife Sigoni; David Brooks and Mike Brooks; 9 great grandchildren Jordan Passwaters, Rance Crouch, McKinzie Crouch, Raegan Crouch, Bailey Passwaters, Sawyer Passwaters, Wesson Schaap, Jonah Schaap and Roman Schaap; as well as her beloved dog Sarge.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
